Kuchupudi Natyam
Kuchipudi is a classical dance form that originated in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Known for its graceful movements, expressive gestures, and vibrant storytelling, it combines elements of dance, drama, and music. Traditionally performed by male Brahmins, it has evolved to include both male and female dancers. Kuchipudi often features intricate footwork, rhythmic patterns, and devotional themes. The dance is characterized by its lively movements and the use of facial expressions, making it a captivating form of artistic expression.


Our Guru
Guru Smt. Manju Hema Malini Chavali, the Artistic Director of the Guru Parampara School of Arts, is a distinguished Kuchipudi teacher dedicated to this classical dance form. She began her training at age 5 in Andhra Pradesh and became a resident student of the renowned Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam at 13. After advancing her skills in Chennai, she took on the role of resident instructor at 18 and built a successful career in teaching, performing, and choreography, creating over 30 original pieces and numerous dance ballets. She holds a Master’s in Performing Arts and is recognized as a Grade A Doordarshan artist. In 2011, she established Guru Parampara School of Arts in Dallas to preserve authentic Kuchipudi. She is committed to using art for humanitarian causes and she collaborates with organizations to promote spirituality and kindness through dance, leaving a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.
